According to Administrative Code 8VAC20-780-240, "within 30 days of the first day of employment, staff must complete orientation training in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as appropriate to the age of the children in care." 

Administrative Code 8VAC20-780-245 states, "At least one staff in each classroom or area where children are present shall have...current certification in CPR and First Aid." 

Section C further specifies, "there shall be at least two staff members who meet the requirements of subsection A of this section present on the premises during the center's hours of operation, on field trips, and wherever children are in care."
